Not what I was expecting Im 62 and there was nothing that made me think of the glory days of barnsley

I recommended Barnsley museum to a friend. Me and my friend and our children visited during the school holidays. It is a vital part of Barnsley and were made very welcome. The kids enjoyed taking part with the art work with a friendly, helpful member of staff. A great day out!
Good for kids. I went on a Sunday and I also had a wonder round the rest of the beautiful town hall building, which was open but completely empty.
Loved this intimate local museum with lots of local history beautifully presented, the facilities for children are really good. Enjoyed the brick exhibition designed by Patrick Murphy.
