A very interesting local history museum. There is some real gems here, a bit eccentric, which adds to the charm. A lot of items are on display with information about each. A must see if you are interested in Cawthorne and its environs. The museum is a bit clutterd consequently there is plenty to see. Free entry, the volunteer staff are very friendly and helpful. There isn't a parking lot in the village however the museum is well worth discovering.
The main picture is not Cawthorne museum , its cannon hall . Cawthorne museum is in the centre of Cawthorne and one of the best hidden gems in the country . Please visit it .
The whole family loved this place. Well be back, when we have more time.
Great place to look around, lots of interesting historical pieces and nice grounds to walk around after, the lake should look fantastic when it is completed and should attract more wildfowl onto it.
Just like going back in time. A must to go and see this delightful museum and the ladies who run it
